Our Assessment Process

Assessment Outcome

Following the assessment, you will receive a written diagnostic report that may include:

  • Whether your child meets the diagnostic criteria for dyslexia.

  • A summary of your child's strengths and areas of difficulty.

  • Recommendations for support at home and school.

  • Recommendations regarding reasonable adjustments or further assessments where appropriate.

A methodical approach designed to provide clinical clarity and the educational support your child needs to thrive.

Purpose of the Assessment

The purpose of this assessment is to determine whether your child meets the diagnostic criteria for dyslexia. The assessment will evaluate a range of literacy and cognitive skills associated with learning and will identify your child's strengths, areas of difficulty, and any indicators consistent with dyslexia.

Where appropriate, recommendations will be provided to support your child's learning at home, in school, and in other educational settings.

What the Assessment Involves

  • A developmental, medical, and educational history questionnaire completed by a parent or guardian.

  • Discussion of your child's learning experiences and any concerns you may have.

  • Standardised assessments of reading, spelling, writing, and literacy skills.

  • Assessment of cognitive abilities relevant to learning, including memory, processing speed, and phonological processing.

  • Observation of your child's approach to learning tasks.

 

The assessment may take approximately 2–4 hours, depending on your child's age and individual needs. Breaks will be provided as needed to ensure your child remains comfortable throughout the assessment.

Cost 

The cost of a full dyslexia assessment is £400 for the whole of August. This includes:

  • A comprehensive assessment carried out in the comfort of your own home.

  • Travel to your home.

  • A detailed 7,000-word diagnostic report, providing a thorough overview of your child's learning profile.

  • Personalised recommendations and strategies to support learning at home and in school, regardless of whether a diagnosis of dyslexia is made.

The report is designed to provide practical, evidence-based guidance to help your child reach their full potential.
